My father grew up using a Bosch electric pruning saw that was purchased when he retired as a machinist. He always told me that it was his best tool – probably because it cut so easily and effortlessly. He’d take the cut and then restart the process from the beginning. Bosch makes fantastic garden tools because they’re durable, reliable, easy to use, and most importantly they offer great versatility and power.

To be sure, I would never recommend a cheap corded saw as a primary cutting tool. For one, many of the cheaper models don’t hold up nearly as long as their more expensive counterparts and are more likely to prematurely wear out. For years, I used a simple circular saw with a simple extension at the end. The saw is really very simple: you hold it like a pen and start in either direction (counterclockwise or clockwise) to cut. This was fine for cutting small branches and twigs, but not for larger jobs. The power of a Bosch electric pruning saw is far greater than that of these old corded models. They rip through even the toughest branches. These saws are also much quieter.

Now that I’m retired, I no longer have to worry about maintaining my saw. Instead, I spend my time outside looking for bugs and enjoying the sun and air. My lawn mower has a cutting depth feature that allows the blade to slowly cut the lawn at various angles. This prevents the machine from cutting too deep and causing damage to the turf. When I’m done cutting, the lawn just looks gorgeous. Weeds are also cut effectively and quickly. And, I no longer have to wait for grass clippings to appear in my flowerbeds and flower beds.

I don’t have to worry about getting my hands wet whenever I’m working in the garden. The Bosch electric tools run on batteries. This eliminates the need for water, which is always a concern when gardening. The electric motor doesn’t rust, and it’s very quiet. All of these benefits translate into more time spending in the garden, and more money saved.

These are just two of the many reasons why I prefer to use an electric tool rather than a manual one. I can’t tell you how many times I have cut a branch or snapped a root only to find out later that I had used the wrong tool. I wasted valuable time and effort, and the result was messy green grass. Being able to quickly reattach these broken or damaged branches lets me focus on other areas of my garden, and it also means that I don’t have to get my hands wet when I cut. I can simply undo the task, clean up the area, and start over.
