Are Blue Orchids Real?
Are blue orchids real? The truth is they are not. Even though the orchid plant looks strikingly similar to a genuine orchid, they are completely different in many ways. When growing orchid plants, you cannot leave them out in the sun. They will dry out and die.
The truth is you can grow orchids indoors for a very short period, perhaps a few weeks, but then they become susceptible to the extreme heat of the summer. They can even die from too much sunlight. Some orchids actually perish from too little sun. So are they real or are they a hoax?
There are several breeds of orchids, and they come in hundreds of different shapes and colors. So the truth is that some of them are far more beautiful than others. But if you ask an expert about the subject, “Are blue orchids real?” he would probably tell you no.
Now, there are some orchids that do look very real. These are the ones that have been hybridized over the last century or so, and they have some of the characteristics of true orchids, but they are still very different. It may be that these orchids are just what we are looking for, but it is pretty hard to distinguish them from other plants. It could be that growing orchid plants is a field we want to specialize in sometime in the future.
We can grow orchid plants just about anywhere we can find potting soil. The orchid flowers are usually in pots, growing inside the house on potted plants or outside on rocks. Some people prefer growing orchid plants inside, while others like to put the orchids on their desk or deck. Whatever you choose, just remember that you will need a good potting mix if you are growing orchid plants outdoors. Orchids do not do well in moist soil.
If you are looking at blue orchids and wondering if they are real, then you might be seeing a variety of species, but most of them are not true blue orchids. They are just called that because they have a bluish tint to them. They have been cross bred with other orchid species to create the cross, and many times the actual orchid that is supposed to be blue has been changed color. These can happen due to disease, and there are even a few plants that have been bred for this purpose.
When it comes to the quality of the orchid flowers or the actual plant, most of the time, they are real. There are very few, if any, plants or trees that have this type of pigment. That is why orchids are so special. They are able to change their coloring when needed. They may have their coloring redone several times or even several dozen times in a single year, depending on how much they grow.
The most common orchids that are blue or pink are the Cymbidium orchid, the Pennyroyal orchid, the Oasis orchid, and the Odontoglossum orchid. Some of these have really big blooms. That is why they are so beautiful. When it comes down to growing orchids or choosing between orchids that are real blue orchids and fake orchids, you will have to decide for yourself. Just remember, there are a lot of beautiful orchids out there, so you have to make your decision based on what you like!
Some of these exotic orchids are not the real blue orchids that you may have been led to believe. For example, the Oasis orchid does actually have blue petals, but they are white or translucent. It is not true that the orchid grows in the rain forests of Malaysia or Thailand. There are no plants or trees of that type that grow there, so don’t believe everything you have ever seen or heard about these orchids.
Another myth surrounding these exotic plants is that they only bloom during the dry season, which is during the winter. This is not true either. Many of these exotic orchids will bloom during all seasons, and the main reason is because they are so accustomed to being outdoors.
If you are having trouble determining the true color of your exotic blue orchids, you can always have a professional check them out for you. They will be able to tell you what they are and what they look like under different lighting conditions. Since orchids naturally grow in remote areas that get little sunlight during the day, it is very important that you find out what color they are when they first show up in your garden or flower bed.
