Telescopic Shears

Telescopic shears are a set of specialized power tools used in the construction industry. Made of carbon steel, telescopic shears feature a tapered, curved blade that can be operated via one or more cutting handle positions. This allows the user to create intricate shapes and cuts through sheet rock, board, or plaster without having to remove the tool’s actual blade. The handles on telescopic shears, which screw onto the handle slots in the handle of a standard knife, allow for a more secure, comfortable grip and increase versatility as well. And because they are attached to the handle, rather than being detached, it is easy to carry these garden tools with you and use them in any situation.

Many homeowners and small-time builders find that buying a set of heavy duty telescopic shears is advantageous for a number of different reasons. Large sheets of wood, sheet rocks, or bricks can all be removed and cleaned by one of these power tools, which saves time by not having to manually separate smaller pieces. Since telescopic shears are typically made of stainless steel blades, small particles of dirt or other debris will not be able to embed themselves into the blade, reducing the possibility of damage to the blade. Additionally, since the blades are detachable, it is less likely to lose the blade entirely in high-impact situations.

For home and garden use, telescopic shears are ideal for performing a variety of activities. Instead of lugging around the standard shears, many homeowners opt for compact, lightweight garden tools such as garden hedge shears and smaller screwdrivers. With the ease and convenience of operating garden tools from any position, it is no wonder that the demand for all sizes of heavy duty telescopic shears has steadily increased over the years.

Gardeners and farmers often prefer the larger models of telescopic shears, especially the carbon steel models. These blades are typically constructed of high-quality aluminium alloy. Aluminium is known for being a much stronger material than steel, meaning that it provides more durability in comparison. This, coupled with the fact that aluminium is usually light in weight, allows users to carry and move these garden tools easily. The precision and durability of carbon steel cutting blades is also well appreciated by most users. Carbon steel blades are virtually indestructible, making them an excellent choice for tough jobs and tasks.

Smaller handheld pruning shears often come in the form of compact one-handed models. Typically, one of these shears is powered by a push button and may have one or two speed settings. Although these compact tools are ideal for trimming small branches and buds, they are insufficient for larger jobs. Many compact models will allow the user to lock the blade to prevent accidental cutting. Locking the blade allows the user to perform maintenance and tasks without having to dismantle the shears.

Another important function of garden shears is to provide a handy attachment for other larger gardening tools. For example, a set of cutting shears is often accompanied by a compact, battery operated cultivator, allowing users to grow their own vegetables, herbs, or fruit in a single day. By using a single pair of shears and cultivators, users can achieve much more accuracy in their pruning trimming, reducing the risk of damaging their blades by over-scaling or undermining their plants. These battery powered tools make it possible to cultivate fresh produce quickly and consistently, even in areas where sunlight is scarce.

For larger jobs, such as those that involve trimming larger branches and trees, telescopic shears can also be used on larger models of cordless pruning shears. Cordless shears are generally more powerful than their smaller counterparts, meaning that they can cut denser, thicker branches with greater ease. Large, dense branches can pose a challenge to trimming with a cordless tool. However, larger branches generally require a significant amount of manual labor to accomplish, making the use of such shears well worth the effort for most home-owners. For example, many people will buy a set of yew hedges and a set of shears to efficiently trim and shape these greenery giants.

Telescopic garden shears are available in several different styles. Some models feature steel blades (sometimes referred to as “ipolar” blades), which are strong and durable, but are less precise than those blades made from plastic, aluminum, or carbon fiber. Some models, like those manufactured by the Remington brand, also feature diamond blades, which are virtually indestructible and capable of cutting through some of the toughest nails and screws.
